iBall is one of the known names in India when it comes to computer accessories. The company recently forayed into the domain of mobile phones and following the trend set by pioneers like Micromax; has launched plenty of models at economical prices. If you’re looking for an Android powered phone for budget under Rs. 10000, you now have a new option; and it’s called iBall Andi 2. We strain our brains to figure out why did the company come up with a weird name for this handset. It looks like the Andi 2 will now directly compete with the Sony Live Walkman phone for the price. But is the phone really worth the price? Let’s find out through the hardware and software specs.
The first disappointment comes from the Android version this phone runs. iBall decided to go withAndroid 2.2 Froyo and we don’t know whether this phone will support latest versions of Android. The second disappointment comes from 3MP rear camera and VGA front camera. We believe that 5MP cams are a norm these days and anything less than that is a no go. On the positive side, the phone has capacitive touch-screen with 8.9 cm (3.5”) real estate and 1450 mAh battery. Other regular features include expandable memory (up to 16 Gb), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPRS etc. You’ll also get a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone jack.
It’d be interesting to see how the phone stands against the competition as there are plenty of android options available at the price point. What do you think about iBall Andi 2?
