Samsung Mythic Review

Samsung has been wowing customers with their TouchWiz array of devices and the Samsung Mythic is no exception. This device on AT&T comes with a whole range of added features to live up to its name, among them being mobile TV service. A more detailed look reveals the following.

Samsung Mythic

Samsung Mythic Design and Quality

The Samsung Mythic has a slim appearance, being slightly longer than the other TouchWiz devices. This device looks smooth with silver chrome edges on a plastic exterior. The glossy black look of the phone is complemented by the burgundy look at the back. The 3.3″ touchscreen on this device responds well and the 360 х 640 pixel resolution and 262k colours make images come alive. Though this is not equal to an AMOLED display, it is still bright and sharp enough. Even screen visibility outdoors during the day is good. Below the screen are Send and End keys with a prominent square key in the middle used to go back. While the lock, menu shortcut and camera key is located to the right of the device, the volume rocker is housed at the left of the phone. The microUSB port and 3.5mm headset jack are located at the top of this device. Finally, the back of this device contains the 3.2MP camera lens with LED flash near the top and the speaker phone located lower.

Samsung Mythic Specifications

The Samsung Mythic measures 4.5in х 2.06in х 0.5in and weighs about 3.8 ounces. This device supports 32GB external memory.

Samsung Mythic Features

The TouchWiz interface on this mobile phone consists of three homescreens that can be customized. This works fast, whether one is navigating or placing widgets on the screen.
Internet browsing on the Samsung Mythic is pretty good, with pages loading fast. By tapping twice, users can zoom into aspects of the page. Messaging facilities are standard, with users being able to access AOL, Windows Live and Yahoo.

The virtual keyboard on this device is responsive with vibrations accompanying input. The Samsung Mythic has a TV tuner allowing users to view CNBC, ESPN, FOX, MTV and so on. Call quality is fine and the speakerphone has a decent volume. The music player on this device has the usual functions. Connectivity options on this device include Bluetooth.

Samsung Mythic Camera

The Samsung Mythic houses a 3.2MP camera with LED flash. Photo quality is not excellent, with the colors looking dull at times. Photographs also end up looking blurry in dark conditions. Unfortunately, the video quality on the Samsung Mythic is also not too great. Visuals look pixelated and even the audio is unclear.

Samsung Mythic Battery

This device has a talktime upto 3 hours and a standby time upto 252 hours. The mobile phone can handle a few days of usage before it needs to be charged. Samsung Mythic offers a refreshing TouchWiz interface and provides a good browsing experience for users. On the flipside, the camera on this device is nothing great and results in washed out photographs. If one is not too fussy about the latter, the Samsung Mythic can be seriously considered.
